I'd been watching and bidding on a knife that just called to me from the bay. Another one of Greg's auctions. This time for a Schatt & Morgan, #19 Trapper with Autumn Maze bone and Corn Cob jigging, 1 of 50. I just loved the look of it in the pics, both the color and the jigging. But you know how it is, you get your expectations up and then open the box, and bummer. Not this time. It came in today and with a little concern I opened it up. Very nice! The fit and finish are excellent. Unlike the CSC, this trapper has great spring to liner and scales to everything fit. The polish work is excellent. This is what I expect of a Schatt & Morgan, CSC, or Queen. Not to mention, the darn thing, to me at least, is as pretty in the hand as it was in the pic. The scan is okay, but not quite up to the auction pic. While it won't shave, it did come quite sharp out of the box.

I'm just getting started gathering up S&M and Queens, with Case, plus Boker, Camillus/Camillus made, and Schrade making up the majority of my herd.

Anywhosin, I just wanted to share/show it off.

Do they get any nicer that THAT !....I don't think so. Congratulations....and very happy to hear she meets all your expectations. My-oh-my she's a looker

-Best regards !

Nice Trapper, Amos. Unusual Jigging!!
1 of 50 must be an SFO; I wonder who did it?

Based on the listing, partially quoted below, I think it might be Greg himself.

"Schatt & Morgan 2006-One of Only Fifty made. The Only place that one of this knife here can be bought is here on eBay, or at the store. 4 1/8'' closed two blade Corn Cobb jigged Autumn Maze Bone handled Trapper. NIB.

Just got these in, the Second knife in a series of Three Trappers that are a FSO from Schatt & Morgan. {Pearl handles later...}
"

I sent him a note today asking what the first one was. ADDED: I got a reply and the first one was stag, with an issue of 100.

I've been seeing so many FSOs lately I'm starting to wonder if S&M/Queen actually have any regular production models going. ;)

If anyone is interested, there is another one of the Autumn Maze, Corn Cob jigged, listed on ebay right now with 3 days to go. Item number: 250042558535. Same seller.

That's true eye-candy, that is.
Nice catch, Amos!!
After having joined this forum, I think I'm developing a liking to orange scales.

Thanks guys. That one was love, er lust at first sight. Just something about it. Just right for fall too - Autumn Maze and Corn Cob Jigging. The sound of it makes you taste crisp apples and fall.

Sunburst, you're safe, for now. My only other S&Ms are those Waynorth commissioned Harness Jack and Farmers Jack. Two knives I highly recommend anyone having. It's all his fault. Once I got those in hand it just left me hankering for more. I know what you mean though. I've been seeing those S&M English Jacks these fellas are showing off and man, do I want one. I keep trying for some on ebay, but they keep going over my self-imposed limit. Someday, someday.

Karl, I'm hoping to scan in a couple of Moose/Equal End Trappers for you. I recall you mentioned you like those and haven't seen to many, even on here. Mine are just a Camillus or two, but these guys will pull some fine ones out to show. I think it may be another pattern show time. The longer you hang out here, the more things you will start liking and wanting.

Thanks Amos, I really appreciate that!!
Can't wait to see your goodies.
Personally, I've only been able to collect a couple of muskrats/mooses, but I immediately took a liking to them, particularly the moose pattern. My favourite pattern as a matter of fact.

The longer you hang out here, the more things you will start liking and wanting.

So I've noticed. I thought I was badly into the knife-liking/wanting thing already before finding this forum, but now...
My wallet is running away from me, screaming in fright, when I'm writing this. :D

Nice knife, Amos! I really love the bone: the color is great and the jigging is very cool too. Good score!

Another nice one. I am still really impressed with the fit and finish of the Queen's/Schatt and Morgans. They are first rate.
