This knife is prohibited from being sold in, or shipped to, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Washington. (from Orvis)

I don't know about other states, but even switchblades are legal (with a FOID card) in Illinois. What would qualify this knife as illegal?

Obviously I like this knife and will be getting one from somewhere soon.

It's just Orvis being overly cautious, seems like they won't ship any locking knife, including Opinel to those states either.
