Mods. I hope I am not breaking any rules here. If so, please, by all means, shut me down. However this is an incredible blog, all in Norwegian, showing what must be someone's life passion for tradional Norwegian knives...some antique, others apparently new custom models. About the only word I recognize is "kniven" and I think we all know what that means :)

Nothing is for sale so I don't think I am spamming. I just wanted to share the amazing photos this fellow has accumulated...thousands of cool old knives.

I hope you enjoy.

those slipjoint / folders with fork are very interesting. Also many beautifully made puukkos. Thanks for link

Ah Jani is it not? I thought you might be aware of this. I have another link someplace that is all Puukko...and all in Finnish as well.

Here this one is. I bet you know this one.http://www.taistokuortti.com I think this is also a man's collection...of Puukkos, photos, or a little of both. Likewise, if this is spam I apologize but in good faith, I think it not.

This one is my favorite from that site.

I know Taisto Kuortti. In those site's there are so many bautiful puukko's that it leaves you speechless. Puukko is very fine tool and one of the best bushcraft / woodwork tool there is. I think I am bit partial to say this though... :)

hoosierq thanks for sharing those beautiful knives with us. i did'nt realize that the norwegians made such ornate knives & intricate folders.

cool thread.
would it be possible to get an interpretation of the write up of the 2nd and 3rd knives. they look very significant.

Keith, which knives do you refer to? The Ivory ones? I'm Swedish speaking-which has some similarities to Norwegian so I'll give it a shot!

Those Junger folding knives are remarkable:thumbup:

yes the ivory one with the carved sheath and handle that was on the 1st page and the one just above it with the carved sheath. the folders would be a bonus.
the level or workmanship and artistry is outstanding.

Holy smokes! I've never seen knives like those before.

Unfortunately, the way the $USD$ is falling, I'll never be able to afford a Scandinavian knife like those!
