It's bad enough that 50 cent crap plastic knives are made and sold anywhere, but on ebay there is this! where these fine POS knives are being sold for a dollar that goes to "Auction for America" -- a great cause and one anyone should support. Except of course, the 3.95 shipping and handling goes to the seller. No doubt he sleeps well at night. Hey, let's use a national tragedy to peddle our CRAP! :barf:

I bought a Busse Basic 7 and the seller paid shipping. He gave the who sale to the Auction of America. During the initial stage of this auction there were some nice knives including some customs and WWII blades. Sure there is a lot of crap there but the cause is bigger than the quality of the material.

It may well be crap that is being sold, but I doubt that the company is going to get rich of the few cents that they might make from the shipping. If they can sell a few thousand of these knives, the money they raise will do some good. I understand what you are saying, I just don't think what is being done is all that bad.

Fossilhunter my friend --- there are noe ebay costs in Auction for America, they are all waived. Also, while priority shiping may cost that much, it costs about 50 cents to ship first class.

I wholly support Auction for America and have listed several items there and paid the shipping myself. While that isn't a requirement, my beef is people selling junk that they would gladly sell for a penny and make their margins on the shipping.

No, he isn't getting rich this way, but when you sell something for a dollar and charge 44 to send it ... hmm, sounds like 20% is going to charity. Maybe 22.5% if you take out the shipping.

The guy who gave the Busse --- now, that is class.
