So after a wonderful morning visiting with Waynorth Friday at the GEC rendezvous, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend two more knife shows this weekend. It was bad enough that Charlie had to be so gracious as to sell me two Charlows that I consider to be the best I've ever seen, but he just HAD to go and show off some of his amazing barlow collection to me.

Well, to make a long story short, I've now officially started my own old barlow collection!

I picked up two old pre-1947 Schrades, and one Robeson, all with spearpoint main blades. Those three by themselves were enough to have me thrilled, but then I found this:

That puppy there seems like three knives rolled in to one: a barlow, an all metal knife, and a boy's knife. According to the seller, these were sold by Russel sometime in the fifties, but were most likely made by Wards (?). I'm sure I paid way too much for it, but I just couldn't put the thing down.

So anyway, thank you, Charlie, for all you've done for us knife nuts, for your hospitality, and for inspiring the latest branch of my collecting. The world needs more like you!

Wow those are great looking barlows. I love the old Schrade barlows with the S on the bolsters. Great finds!!!

Very nice! I have the Schrade S bolster but havent found a Robeson in that great of shape. Great find

You're not going to get much sympathy here :D
After all, I think many of us have the same affliction! ;)
Great finds by the way. I especially like the Schrades.

Cool old barlows.

Hopefully Charlie knows how much he has benefited this forum, and traditional knife collecting in genera.

Charlie's my Hero :) He's a HUGE asset to this forum and to the knife collecting community.

Two of my MOST cherished pocket knives are these Charlows. I only have two, but they're very dear to me.

Congrats on the nice Barlow addiction start! :D

Prior to seeing Charlie's contributions to the Barlow world I didn't care much for Barlows. I got one in my hands that was a bit shoddy and didn't impress me much... Then I've seen all the TC's here...
The one that I'd love to get my hands on is the Day's Work in Soup Bone. But then Sawcut Bone would make me happy too... :p

Thanks guys! I'll have to take an updated pic of my Charlow collection to post here!

Charlie has ruined me... I mean my checking account. Nice start to a nice addiction.

Great stuff Dan, looks like you've jumped in at the deep end! :D

STOP THE PRESSES! I just realized that somehow I never picked up a Diamond Jack... Are these still fairly available? I can't believe this...
