Your question seems really off topic for the thread you posted in, so I moved it here. Perhaps you could give us a better idea of why you are asking.

in a cheaper point, your average home oven can get to 900*F without a hitch. What protects the person standing in front of it? The door [which includes a glass window] and the construction of the walls of the oven.

A very large underground reinforced bunker with ceramic plating, geothermal power plant for energy, oxygen scrubbers + plants to eliminate carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, a way to eliminate waste (especially bio) and a whole lot of food and water?

Mm, I would just sit on the porch, have a beer and watch the meteor come on in. Not every day one gets to watch the apocalypse kick off.

For a fictionalized example, by guys who know their science, read Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.

If a meter is about to hit the earth just turn the meter on and let the water out. Sorry I'm just being a dick. For future: "Meteorite" and "Survive".

Sometimes I really wish this forum had a "like" button. This made me lol.

This.

I could think of no better way to rationalize falling off the wagon.

:)
