Can someone explain to me how this knife is useful? You can't even conveniently carry it, and I don't even see how a lot of the blades in the middle can even be used. And worst of all it costs close to a grand!

It makes it easy to see how many tools and options SAK's can offer. I am pretty sure it is just a shop display piece, similar to an Opinel #13.

That is not to say that you couldn't use it, if you had to. :D:thumbup:

Amateur effort if you ask me. (and this one ran for a whole lot more than a grand) :D

Make sure you practice deploying the flashlight, first. Don't want to be in a low-light situation and get the saw when you wanted the nail-clippers!

Might be useful for parts if you're into modding SAKs, but I can see SAK collectors wanting that for the desktop.

With all tools opened like that, it's a formidable projectile. I would not want to get hit in the face with it.

But it would take 15 minutes to deploy all the pointy things. I'm waiting for the automatic version :D

If memory serves me - this was designed / created to be used as a salesman's tool, as it was supposed to contain all the tools / blades they offered.

There was enough interest in it from the collector world that they decided to make them - in the beginning you had to call them directly and pay for it ahead of time before they would produce it for you.

I don't think the intention was ever for it to be used other than as eye candy.

I wish you could custom order a SA knife with the specific tools you want. It would be worth the money to have it hand made, but I don't see an option for this.

It also has a few more tools. The entire thing can be used as a paperweight, and you can swing it like a brick and a hammer.
