This made me smile today. A novel that pictures a knife by Jerry on it's cover.

One glance and you know that knife is all Hossom. Jerry is also mentioned in the novel.

Marcus Wynne has three previous hardcover novels to his credit.

Thanks Gus. For pure style no one touches Jerry Hossom. Great choice for a cover photo.

What is the knife tie-in?
Never mine, I will try to find a review on Amazon or something.

Looks like we are seeing more and more of this type of thing.

Kind of un-related but.... Gardens & Guns Magazine has had back to back articles on custom knives. Last issue on Daniel Winkler and this on Jerry Fisk.

Custom knives being featured in non-knife media/books/magazine is very encouraging.

Thanks for sharing this Gus.

Kevin,

I am not sure at this point, the book just came out. So other than a Jerry's knife on the cover, I guess I am going to have to read the book to see what the tie in is and how Jerry's mention fits in.

That's cool! Jerry's knives sure do stand out from the crowd. In a good way!

KevinJ: "Garden & Guns"???! Sounds like the only publication out there that both my wife and I can enjoy. I'll have to take a look. :D

My wife got a big kick out of this and decided to give me my Christmas present early, a new Kindle, so I could enjoy it. It was just recently released on Amazon and is only available in Kindle format. Marcus kindly sent me a preview of some of the book, which is entirely about combating terrorism, but in the shadows instead of the battlefield. Knives are much used in the book, but unlike most books the specific model knives and their makers are named. I have to confess I actually giggled when I read my name on the first page he sent me. I've known Marcus for quite a long time; he has a couple of my knives, one of which is a model used in the book. Here's a link to his website. As you can see, unlike most authors he's been there and done that in more things than you can count. He's presently actively engaged in training special operations personnel in various countries. Amazing guy, and good friend. http://www.marcuswynne.com/

I should add, this is just about information on a very knife oriented book. I'm not selling knives here and don't take orders so the book is all I'm talking about. For those who might be interested in stories about how some knives are really used in nasty situations, both for good and evil, it's a great read. Among those who Marcus collaborated with on the book are some of most skilled tactical knife people I know.

he's a mountain biker, eh? Well then he MUST be hardcore!:D
Congrats Mr. Hossom- love your work man:thumbup::cool:

Always cool when a real custom knife by a talented maker winds up on and in a book.

Always cool when the author knows a bit about the fiction they create.

Good for all of us, when you think about it!

It's a very interesting concept and very well done magazine.

It's like Better Homes & Gardens and Guns & Ammo rolled into one magazine.
We had about 35 for Thanksgiving dinner and the past issue was on a coffee table, well it's thoroughly worn out now from so many folks thumbing through it.

Congratulations and nice going Jerry.

VERY cool indeed! Thanks for the explanation Jerry. It does sound like an interesting book by an interesting author.

I was excited to see this since that knife is currently in my possession. I'm super happy for Jerry, it's just a cool thing for his work to be recognized in this way.

I bought the book and read a few chapters but unfortunately had to go to work today :D. I'll get back on it this weekend.

Congrats Jerry!
