I picked this one up from Mike Alsdorf on Saturday. Mike has been making some amazing knives with fabulous shields. Some of you probably saw my new EDC with the bullet shield. Anyway, I asked Mike if he could make a badge or Federal style shield. It turns out that was already on his list, so it happened quickly. Here is one of my new favorites from Mike. It has Mammoth Ivory scales with a lot of nice grain. Mike was going to dress it up a little more with some embellishment to the bolsters, but I convinced him it was done:D

Read somewhere that Mr. Alsdorf learned from Eugene Shadley. Anyone know if that's true? He does have a unique style of his own.

Very nice. Congratulations on your new addition.

I saw an eBay description with that in it. Most of that seller's description was false. Originally, the knife was listed as ATS-34 Steel and stainless fittings. As far as I know, Mike is self taught with no direct connection to any other maker...and I got this directly from Mike. Some seller's will say almost anything to make a sale.

This is again really a beauty doctor's knife. Mike is using now higher value scale materials ? Is he thinking about making longer slipjoints (e.g. 3 1/2 inch closed) and may be about a 2-bladed-doctors knife, Darwin ?
By the way - I like Mikes long tang - you can put your index-finger there to have a stronger grip.

These things are coming Stefan;) I should have a couple of two blade doctors from Mike pretty soon...and he also has a slightly larger slipjoint pattern in the works...I can't wait to see it, but I don't expect it until after the Blade show. I've seen some of Mike's two blade Doctor's and they were awesome, but they were also sold:mad:

How can the 2-blades be sold to others ????? Naughty Mike :grumpy: ;) You don't have any pictures of the 2-blades ? When will be the mentioned Blade-Show, Darwin ?

So I pulled the trigger on an Alsdorf Doctor in Jigged Amber Bone with the exact dimensions as the one Darwin posted above.

I keep pulling it from it's protective sleeve to see if the "Alsdorf" has been magically replaced with "Chamblin"... yeah, it's that solid. Unreal value here. And the jigging on the bone is very well done I might add.

The idea was to gift this to my best friend that's graduating law school this week but I think I might keep it. :p

That's a keeper!!Love the clean lines and the grind on the blade. I have always liked the single blades. You going to carry it??
