I am trying to contact my buyer thru both private message and the "send email" function on this forum. Neither work for me now. I get the script time out error or whatever. I have to get a message to my buyer, but have no contact info for him except thru this site.
 
Try and send me a private message

Forgot to add that this might occur if the message is particularly long. If that's the case try deleting some of the previous quoted messages before sending the reply.

My experience in Exchange transactions of the past, as well as reading some of the newer stuff people post. If someone cannot follow up by posting at the very least a Visitor Message which is available to everyone, then you may not have a serious buyer. I would recommend making it a point to make your email a little more public to avoid these issues, wherever they may originate. The email has been hit and miss for a long time now. I get emails via yahoo and outlook from this site, but some may have issues with other providers. The problem in reality is relying on one avenue of communication, in this case the forums. Post your contact info in your profile, that way there can be no excuse for potential customers to not be able to get in touch with you. I see a lot of knife makers, craftsmen, etc publicly display their contact info, they don't have these issues or if they do they aren't reporting them.

Just sent you a private message and it went right through although it was just two words. Strange.
 
Rycen, I was able to get mine out right before receipt of yours. Dunno what happened there for a bit...hopefully just a quick glitch. :)
 
Just to clarify my experience....the knife was sold to a guy. No problems there. He had a PO box number and I needed a physical address or phone number, so I had to get in touch with him. HAD TO. I used the PM function to type an EXTREMELY short message. Tried starting new message. Tried editing existing messages. Tried the email function.....all no go. I get the page was reset or whatever screen, after waiting a minute or two.....every single time.

Finally I got smart and went to the Paypal page, where his email was listed, and was able to get in contact with him thru his regular email and my regular email.

This is the second time in as many sales that I have had to contact a buyer who does not list his email or contact info in their profile, and the PM and email function fail to work. Problem solved for now....as I was able to contact him via yahoo mail.
