I know these aren't the droids you may be looking for but they're a valuable a learning experience for me and a part of the Redmeadow family.

Thought I'd start a thread and show the process to keep tabs on things. I've given away six through the Newsletter and made one as a request.

Start with a piece of steel (6"×1.1" 52100 .01" thick)

A little cheat grinding the corners. With steel this thin forging the corners in causes a lot of issues for me so knocking them off makes things a lot easier.

Make it bladey

Then handley

From here it's thermal cycled/normalized, profiled, lanyard hole drilled and chamfered, quenched, tempered, bevels ground, profile contoured and dressed, hand sanded, sheathed, sharpened, and off in the Newsletter.

I'll share random pics of the process along the way with these.

Really like Comprehensivist Comprehensivist suggestion of calling these Rebels.

A couple of pics of ones that have gone out.

Those forged blades look great is that something you are toning to offer once you have free time? I haven’t been lucky enough yet. Also hoping for a stacked leather handle knives to come back.

They'll be a regular offering at some point. I haven't had much feedback on them but I'm going to keep the giveaways going and offer some up for sale at the same time. What kind of blade style are you interested in? Does the one in the WIP pics above suit you or do you have a different blade style in mind?

Barring a complete collapse of the economy I'll be free of the day job later this year, gonna kick that habit. Stacked leather is the first thing on the list when that happens.

Cool handy little guys. Keep up the good work. Can you do a Zulu?
