Yep the real thing, surgical stainless.

Made from 440c, called a mohel messer or sometimes a moyel messer.

If you rub it does it become a khukuri? :D

Blade is 1"X 3" approx ground from 1/8" stock absolutely blemish free for ease of sterilization. This is a sample of the wide variety of styles that I get requests for. I am always surprised when these unusual projects come out of the blue but I welcome the challenge.

Was the 440C requested? Or was it your choice for the job....?

I ask because, in my experience 440C is as good as it gets for being stainless where blood is concerned. I have a couple mirror finished 440C blades that haven't been touched by anything so far...but I do not cut fruit with them, that may be different.

440C was my suggestion based on it's high chromium content. It used to be used for surgical instruments back when they were made from steel instead of plastic.

1" by 3"?? That's like a cleaver for the little guys! I assumed the bris boys used some sort of delicate instrument. Maybe not a scalpel, but something a wee bit more precise.

UUUUUUUuUUuuuuuggggghhhhh!!!!!

It stays the same. The proceedure is traumatic enough on the parents as it is.

If it's trauatic for anyone then why do it?

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

Knife Fumbler--Since you are still a teenager,Blues' post may be too subtle for you.I'll be more direct: please edit your post.We do not denigrate any religious beliefs in our forums.

i know yuo meant it as a joke, but lets face it. not everyone here is christian, and EVERYONE here has their own beliefs.

First of all just want to thank George for posting the knife. Looks like a pretty tough grind to execute. Bet it would be hard to keep it symetrical. Beautiful job George. There are not too many people that are going to say they were circumcised with a "Custom". If it is part of your beliefs. That is the way to go :).

After listening to some good advice from someone I respect :D (thanks George!) I think the thread has run it's course as far a knife discussion :).
