this is the first knife ive made, i feel good enough about to show

ive made a half dozen or so knives now
so thanks alot to all you guys for sharing information
this was also my 1st attempt working with leather
ive been using this knife daily, so far it works really well
any input is appreciated

You seem to have a lot of enthusiasm and the fact that the knife
works well for your intended purpose makes it a success.
 
Nice work, did you whittle the handle? a little sandpaper could shape it up a bit more... Keep it up!
 
The best way to learn is to find a knife that you love and study the lines and angles of it. Compare your knife to it and see what's different. Keep up the good work!

i shaped the handle to fit my tough leatherlike hands
next one, ill prolly make the handle bigger
unless it turns out to be a smaller knife

thats a good idea, but i tend to really like alot of different knives, of all shapes n styles ;)
 
Its a keeper. Glad it works well but learn from it and make improvements to the next ones. Remember looks are not nearly as important as the heat treatment. You can buy beautiful knives at the gas station for less than $10 but they wont cut butter. Your knife works really well.
