This is an Elk Skinner by Dean Laner he sent me today(pic that is)

Nice looking stuff!

Dean Laner Elkskinner ironwood handle. over all length is 8.75 in. H=4.5 in. bld.= 4 in. mirror pollished. blade stock is 5/32 D-2. brass hilt and pommel.

Very sweet. Wiould the D2 be a bad steel for a skinner, because of it low stainless.
