Fake Buck Striders is one thing but this really surprised me. Have a look at 280206000330 on the Bay. Is it a Buck? I don’t think so, but it sure looks like a red handled 301. Not one of the pictures shows a tang stamp. Are these red handled 301s so coveted that they are worth counterfeiting. I wouldn’t have thought so. What a world eh?
 
It's sure looks like a Buck, he has 3 of them up at the same time, using the same pictures for all 3 auction.

Your right, these are not worth enough to go to the trouble of faking one, I just bought a NIB one for under $40.00, from 1992.
 
He's out of Hong Kong, that usually worries me. Plus, shipping is almost $13. I'll pass on that.

I "collect" (as opposed to accumulate) cigarette-case/lighter combos, mostly Ronson but some others, from the 30's/40's/50's...They used to go for a goodly sum, but lately there has been a spurt of copies/clones from HK, and the price for originals has dropped drastically... :(

You'd think this would be a good time to stock up on the originals, but my view is that where I may have a $60 or $70 original, now it's selling for $10 or $15 on eBay... :rolleyes:

Pretty much makes my "collection" worthless... :mad:
 
I ran like a scalded cat.... guess I was remiss in not bringing up the bad and the ugly of them to everyone..........300$s
