Its a giant curved TV screen and TV studio. The little booths above are where the TV reporters sit in all day and their makeup "studio" is this crappy little room with school library booths in it.

Way cool! Back in the Nixon era, I took high school students to a local TV news broadcast. It looked just like that, minus the giant curved TV screen, and everyone on camera was clearly over 6' tall. Are they still recruiting from The Land of Giants?
