take the bk11

add 2 inches to the handle, and about 2 inches to the blade length.

keep the blade width and profile. i think it would made a great knife.

keep the bottle opener, offer it with micarta scale options, colors would be that green/brown color, black/grey color and a orange, also leave it blank for those want to use cord wraps.

offer a sheath option.

leather ,spec ops, or a kydex .

what is everyone else's thoughts?

Sounds like a good knife design. Good functional length of handle and blade, as well as some extra "fucntionality" with the bottle opener.

Good eye, and good thoughts.

That would be sweet. The only reason I haven't picked up the '11 is because I already have the '14. The longer handle/blade would make it a "must have" knife.

Something I would like to see is a pure combat blade. Something very pointy and mid-sized (not like Ka-bar USMC, more updated/current). My inner child is still a 14 year old ninja!!:o I'm not sure that is something Becker would want to be associated with, what with the utilitarian mindset and all, but a 14yo ninja can dream, right?

I believe that is called the BK5 Magnum Camp.

Pointy and mid-sized, yes, but not quite what I had in mind. Personally, I find the BK5 to be better suited for kitchen duty. Not that it wouldn't prove to be more than effective in a combat situation, because I'm sure it would.

I'm having trouble putting into words exactly what I'm thinking of, which doesn't help at all. Oh well, nevermind! :D

I agree with you, it seems geared towards KP duty, no doubt, but if I had to pick a knife to fight with, it would be the BK5, beyond a doubt.

I'd rather not fight with a knife at all. So if I had to pick a knife to fight with, I'd grab a .45!! ;)

In fact, I'd rather not fight period. I'm a lover not a fighter, but it ain't easy bein' a pimp.

I'd better quit hijacking the OP's thread. Sorry brother!

a machax warrior is the way to go for a fighting knife :)

and a magnum camp in my other hand...

but you know... i can imagine that most soldiers just never will get into knife fights.

most people for that matter. professional knife fighters? kinda rare. just doesn't seem like a practical thing these days... not for most people. so, who'd buy it?

now, a defensive knife... a Becker Utility Karambit :) there we go ;)

I dunno, I think it'd be cool, but I like my 11 the way it is. If it were any longer I wouldn't be able to conceal it under my shirt at work properly. the way the sheath is and everything, it's just short enough I can keep my shirt tucked in without it looking too wonky. but if you aren't wearing your 11 like that then yeah, a little longer of a handle would be cool.
