This is what I'm looking for...

A 3.5" - 4" production folder geared toward defense/fighting. My requirements: rubber handle for no-slip, finger choil or handguard, and a premium steel higher than 440C/AUS8. Would prefer to it being not a liner lock. Lockback okay. No thumb studs either. Does this thing exist?

I was looking at the Spyderco Police, but their handle materials are slippery - stainless or carbon fiber.

Well I found a Spyderco Police with G10 handles for about the same price as the knife above. It looks like a choice between the two.

Spyderco has a slightly longer blade and a lockback lock. How does this lock compare with the Axis lock in terms of strength? since these knives are from two great companies I'm not too worried about that issue.

Which do you prefer? Any other suggestions?

regarding the reliability of the Axis locking mechanism use the search button, then compare the handles in matters of grip safety (e. g. stabbing); after that you will buy the AFCK!
