I just took these pictures from my front yard. The tornado sirens started going off so we headed to the tornado shelter.

Then I started thinking: "Baby, check. Wife, check. Go bag, check. Busse's, yup need to grab em all!!!"

Justification, we may need to CHOP our way through the ruins of the house to get to freedom!

Wow...living out in the west near the Rockies we don't see tornados...my dream is to see a tornado in real life..awesome!! Terrible when they ruin lives tho.. we acctually had one land on the mountain like nine years ago..it ruined part of our Capitol building..it didn't get to see it but it was big news here as you can imagine..

The "WTF" Beast was released today......

Take care my man. We actually had a cloud/storm front that looked like that in Jersey a few weeks back....very out of the norm!

Be safe!

I'm in Eastern NC, so we basically never get tornadoes, BUT- the one time we did, I was literally about 50 yards in front of it in my Tahoe, and it blew the back window out from the air pressure! It was insane! I was as close as you could get without getting hurt. One of the craziest moments of my life.

Left my house, it was nice and sunny, and right about a minute later (the time it takes to get out of the neighborhood) the sky turned dark and the truck started rocking back and forth really hard, so I look to my left and there was a tornado right in front of me (like I said, about 150ft/50yrds away!). It just came around the corner out of nowhere, and all of a sudden- "BOOM" -the back window shattered and blew in- Slammed the truck in reverse and hauled @$$ back down my neighborhood, which was total destruction. Had to cut through my neighbors yards because there were trees down all over the place. One of those times I really wish I had a dashcam!
(although I have to say it was nice to see the neighborhood get together to help everyone. About 15 minutes after everyone was out with chainsaws, trucks, rakes, etc cleaning up the debris)

Adian,

Stay Safe Brudda and check back in with us when you can!!!

I can't find any news about it, so hopefully it didn't touch down.

Damn man, get clear, get underground, be safe! Here in L.A. the earth might open one day and swallow us, but we don't get twisters... that looks like an alien invasion. This New Yorker would gladly deal with the muggers and cabbies and the crazies... looking at your pics, I'm convinced nature is trying to kill us.

Give us a shout out when things are quite again... may that thing take a left turn and miss you by miles and miles!

We made it ok in our area. There was a touchdown about 15 miles from us and a second on radar as part of this cell a mile or so away but it never made touchdown.

We've lived in Nevraska for almost 2 years now and never seen the like. Only ever seen internet pictures of the cells. The wind was flexing my garage doors while we were in the storm shelter.

At least moving to Puerto Rico in two weeks, we will have plenty of notice for the hurricanes!

Good to hear all is well and the storm didn't hit you. I'd deal with a hurricane anytime before one of those twisters.
Best of luck with your upcoming move, hope it all goes smoothly

That's some crazy stuff there. Sounds like a movie! It's all pretty exciting to me, my wife, not so much! Maybe it's the crazy Marine mentality that we just want to see what's going on not be in the storm shelter!
