For some reason I didn't jump on these when they were initially made with the saw steel and gunstock maple. I liked the looks of it but didn't get around to ordering one.

When I saw the change to O1 steel and Micarta scales, I jumped on it. These are just my first impressions of it. Nice matte grey finish, razor sharp blade out of the box. Handle fits my hand very well, everything is round and neatly finished and it's slightly handle heavy so it rests in my paw nicely. The sheath is a JRE which while very well made, it's very thin leather. I will have to remember to be extremely careful when resheathing.

Overall this seems to be an unbelievable value, I mean $100 shipped on a handmade and sheath is pretty impressive. Hope to get some outdoor shots of it this weekend. But I was pretty stoked to get it and had to post some pics  Also as others have mentioned, LT and Dan are really nice guys and answered all my emails quickly.

Nice! The handles aren't even close to as pretty, but I like these material choices better.

Me too. For tough use, Micarta is just fine by me. And as LT said, you won't be afraid to beat on it with a rock!

very nice knife. while i do prefer big choppers I also will admit i like smaller knives.....and that one there is pretty dang sweet!

Yeah, I did really like their gunstock walnut, but I like their micarta too. BHK is definitely a contender for knives.....Damn, can't buy anymore knives this year!

tknife,

Now you just GOTTA get a matching Bushbaby!! It is also a jam up little knife and goes wonderfully with the bushcrafter.

I am hooked on BHK blades.

Cool, a non- scandi bushcrafter! At that price, they're almost giving it away.

I'm with ya Ray, I'm still not quite sold on the Scandi grind myself and this thing has the same great shape as the "traditional" bushcrafters but with a V grind. I like it

I got mine kinda by fluke in a trade for a knife blank. It's one of my go-to knives now.I can get it stupid sharp and it stays like that for a long time.
