One of our contacts at USSOCOM has just sent these cool t-shirts for The Busse Combat Team.

Here's the run down.

[] Overtime hours paid? - $3,920.00

[] USSOCOM T-Shirts and a heartfelt Thank You from our troops overseas? - PRICELESS!

Note the lettering on the shirts is Black and Gold. . . very nuclear!

Yes, thank you. And a special thanks for allowing us to participate in the dogtag sponsorship program.

Jerry, the Busse Combat Knife Company is without a doubt an AMERICAN Company. Thanks for giving our troops INFI :)

I think we need to put that t-shirt pic in the picture archive, it definately needs to be remembered.....

I wanted to make sure that everyone understood - because I did not think it was clear from Jerry's post - that Busse Combat DONATED the nearly $50,000. worth of knives to US SOCOM !!

I think that act is perhaps unique with the knife industry. Many of you might have seen a recent issue of Tactical Knives that talked about knife companies donating knives to the troops - but I would be surprised if any of those donations matched anything near what Busse Combat did with this splendid gift. Oddly, Tactical Knives either forgot to mention or forgot to call Busse Combat to ask whether they were making any donations of this kind. Had they asked they would have no doubt discovered that Busse led our industry in that regard!

Frankly, I must say that I am proud to be part of Busse Combat Knife Co. based upon acts like this.

Furthermore, I wanted to reprint something I read about other corporate donations - companies that we should patronize based upon their largesse:

1. Ford- $1 million to American Red Cross matching employee
contributions of the same number plus 10 Excursions to NY Fire Dept. The company also offered ER response team services and office space to displaced government employees.

2. GM- $1 million to American Red Cross matching employee
contributions of the same number and a fleet of vans, suv`s, and trucks.

3. Daimler Chrysler- $10 million to support of the children and victims of the Sept. 11 attack.

4. Harley Davidson motorcycles- $1 million and 30 new motorcycles
to the New York Police Dept.

5. Volkswagen- Employees and management created a Sept. 11
Foundation, funded initial with $2 million, for the assistance of the
children and victims of the WTC.

I would state that Busse Combat is in very good company !! Good job Jerry !!!

Great t-shirt! The images and the phrase just about says it all. I wonder if any of the people who got a free Busse will ever say hello on these boards :) .

Kudos to Jerry & Busse Combat Knife Company!
Your generosity is an example to us all.
May the troops be blessed from above with safety & the wherewithal to accomplish the missions, & return unharmed.
Sweet T's...
They ARE Priceless...
Like the blood shed in that forlorn place.

Definitely priceless:)

Thankyou for supporting our troops, and thankyou for giving us the opportunity to be involved through the Patriot tag program.

Jerry, et al.,

I am compelled to express my gratitude to you for your profound sense of respect and generosity for the members of our Armed Forces. Though I have never served in the military, I recognize that what is good for them is also good for me. Their dedication, bravery, honor and duty are virtues that serve to protect us all, whether we realize it or not. Busse Combat's generous donation to these good men and women is a gift to all of us who cherish freedom and benefit from our soldiers' hard work in defending it.

Thank you.

Further, I am shamed by my impatience in waiting for my own orders throughout all of this, and humbled by your goodwill. Please accept my sincerest apologies for having been difficult with you. Perhaps I can find some solace in the hope that the order I cancelled went to a serviceman who had been waiting patiently for his...

Yours in nuclear gratitude,
Derrick Wulf

Derrick,

There is certainly no need to apologize. I am the one who will be sorry if the day ever comes when our customers and our friends are no longer impatient while waiting for their knives. Hopefully we'll get that wait down to days and hours and not weeks and months. And, hopefully, our customers will continue to be impatient even during those shortened periods.

Thanks for your kind words,

Jerry Busse

I hate to drag an old post back up, not real sure what that protocol is on that... But I had to say that this particular bit of info was new to me and it just floored me. Mr Busse ,while I know that Uncle Sam's Misguided Children don't like to run in small groups, We paratroopers operate in 2 man teams... What I'm getting at here is that that was Out-godda##ed-standing on your part and if it came down to it , you sound like the kinda man I'd be proud to get my a$$ shot off with. "Lead , Follow, or Get out of the way" ? I think you made your choice and it was a great one. On behalf of my buddies in SOCOM (who need to remain nameless) Thanks!
