Well, my Burger LEXK arrived yesterday. gotta say, fantastic knife. picked it up off the forums here for a steel [pun intended
] and i just love it. Its the new lexk with the single locking side ti liner, carbon fiber scales, and the smaller stature.
first thing i notice when i open the package is how light it is. not quite a small knife being nearly 8" oal. definitely wasn't expecting it to be as light as it is.
next thing i notice is i go to open it and the blade swings out of the handle in such a way it looks like the tip would over hang a good half an inch. the pics don't come near to portraying the blade to handle ratio. i had to check to see if the tip really does stick out the end
it doesn't, but it looks like it may if even 1/128th of an inch of cf wears off. definitely a plus in my eyes.
the build quality is phenomenal. no blade play in any direction save one: vertically towards the handle, but thats just the fairly thin ti locking liner flexing, not a side effect of poor workmanship. its not a hard working knife but i didn't buy it to be; i've got my sebenza for that
i gotta say the ergos are flawless for me. it fits my hand like none other, and i'm very picky in this area due to some finger injuries which has left my pinky more or less mangled, crooked, and it was short to start with! but the handle size is just right. not too big, not too small, not too thick, not too thin. i like how it curves upwards on the non pivot end rather than getting thicker, a trait i've hated about my sebbie since day one.
for those that say the knife isn't a one hand opener, you're wrong. very easy to open with one hand using the raised thumb dealy. there's plenty of traction due to the jimping. opens really nice despite its quite impressive detent. snaps open with authority, and makes a very cool noise upon closing! something my other knives haven't done and i kinda like.
overall very pleased with the knife, even more so with the individual i purchased it from and the deal i got!
ON TO THE PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for looking!
