I'm overdosing on knives.

Also, somewhere along the line I broke 1k posts. Time to do a giveaway, methinks.

I thought you were selling off knives to go into knife making full time?

You plans have changed apparently!!

I thought you just sold a Tilt? Now you went and bought two more? Yeah, that was you that sold one for 900 bucks! What's a matter can't make up your mind? :-)

I was including that TiLT in the list - I can never make up my mind. Some of these were good deals that I can use as trade fodder for other things, some are just to fondle, some are potential keepers, some are curiosities I want to check out...

Knifemaking had to be shelved due to the initial costs and low initial turnaround - that'll have to start off as a hobby when I have both a more stable living situation (I might have to move into an apartment in the next year, and no workshop = no knifemaking) and when my finances are a little better. Luckily, knives tend to pay for themselves if you hunt for deals. I've bought, traded, and sold my way to the point where I usually have 3-7 knives in the mail going to or from me at any given time.

And now that new stuff (0562CF, 204p PM2, new bearing Kershaws, S90V Yojimbo) are getting closer to release, it looks like I'll be doing this for a while (or until I burn out...?).

If you're just pushing them around buying and selling then you don't count, as owning that many. So, I'm not listening to your bragging anymore! :-)

What did you drop I'd say over 4000 bucks?

I honestly do not know and do not want to find out.

I got pretty respectable deals on them all, so I don't think I spent 4 grand. Maybe two, two and a half. With how easily knives resell and retain their value, I don't think I've lost money in the long run. It's a couple grand that goes away and comes back pretty much 1:1.

The tilt was ridiculous. I put that on eBay with a stupid high price so people would make offers while I focused on finding a good trade (I'll get an AD10 someday, damnit!) and some guy bought it at full price WHILE A CHEAPER ONE WAS LISTED AT THE SAME TIME.

You definitely have more spending money than me. The only blade I got last week was a pira from Traditional Filipino Weapons. Cost me $250. That was the majority(the rest went to a couple of books and a CD) of my "spending" money until next week.

When your finances are little better? HA ha, I have a house, garage and workshop but def don't have 2-4 grand to spend a week on knives....
But it sounds like a sweet little business you got going which enables you o try lots of knives!

I rarely (ever?) see really good deals on Ebay. I know you find them. Do you have another source you buy from (besides BF)?

eBay is kind if a gamble. Occasionally a really good deal will pop up, but I've learned I really can't trust peoples' descriptions of knives as their standards seem to be pretty low for "sharp", "new", and "solid".

It's here, USN, eBay, and sometimes JerzeeDevil. Pretty much in that order.

How do you like the Warcraft Tanto? I was waiting for the Magnum to come out this month.

I just bought it this morning after staring at them for 8 months. It'll be a couple days before I get it, but I'm kinda expecting to be like a kid with a stick just looking for thing to swing it into. That's as good a field test as any, right? I'll hack up some dumpster furniture, maybe kill a broken TV or two.

It always amazes me how sellers on the bay describe their used knives...

"Almost new" and you can see clearly in the pics that its beat to s**t.

Definitely buyer beware!
