Clicked on a members profile page and it says this:

"This member limits who may view their full profile"

I have clicked on some profiles to check history before buying and now it seems people can block their profile and history page?

Yup, everybody has privacy settings that they can set where only their followers can see their profile, it keeps thing private-er for those who care.

Not sure I like that since you can't check on someones history before buying or trading. I like to get an idea WHO I am dealing with.

That is what a lot of people come here for (Buy-Sell-Trade) and that severely hurts anyone posting on the exchange to set their profile to private. I would think there should be more conversation about that.

For instance there is a guy right now who I want to buy a knife from on the Sebenza forum for $450..

He has no history. no trading history, cannot see his posts or recent activity.. nothing..Because his profile is set on private.

I am not going to buy from somebody like that. Not worth the risk.. and I have been here for a long time and no way I am trusting total strangers. If you have your profile shut off and I don't remember your name.. sorry no deal.. Or just turn your profile back on!

You can click on the post count link under their username and it'll give you a search for their recent posts.

Thanks for mentioning that Matt, I noticed that early on, I'm sure few people know this. This software is different enough warrant a new or updated FAQ stickie.

I'm curious about the opening post...I have not viewed any profile's which did not allow me to access the person's trader rating. I have the "View your details on your profile page" line set to people I follow only...which is redundant because I have removed most of the personal details that were once included. @T.Erdelyi, if you click on my name, is my Trade Rating not visible in the box that opens? If you go to my profile page, is there not a Trader Stats box that one click to get more details? (If it is there, does clicking on it not bring you to a page that shows both the numbers and my trading profile?)

Hmmm - that tag doesn't appear to have worked. Guessing you have that notification turned off.

It takes 2 clicks, first your name and second click "View Trading Profile" takes me to the screen with your pertinent sales/trading feedback.

Right - in that first box that appears, it just says that my Trade Rating is 100%...to get more details, one has to View Trading Profile.
Maybe there's something I'm missing, then - not that I'm interested in hiding that information - how does one restrict access to who can view that stuff. I've looked through most of the stuff while acquainting myself with the new system; and don't recall seeing anything that would have done that.

It appears like all the trade info appears at the bottom of your avatar when in the exchange but not the rest of the forums.

The only thing I've seen that might do this was in the Trading Preferences. At the very bottom there is a box that you can check called Invisible Mode. No idea what it does but I enabled it. If you don't mind, take a look at my Trading Stats and see if it looks different than usual.

I saw the same as the OP just the other day. What did I do but block the user.... there is no need to hide a profile unless you are hiding something. After all we are not required to put much in there. Our feedback is what I use it for...

One can restrict who can see their profile through the privacy page, select your name upper right, in this area one can see the selection privacy. If selected there is the option we are discussing...

I don't believe that to be the case...as stated earlier, I have already restricted who can see the details on my profile page; and the trader information is still visible/accessible.

Go ahead and block me now, though. I'm not hiding anything; but I will continue to restrict access to things that there is no reason to display.

Same here. My feedback is visible to everyone in every Exchange post I make. My posts are visible to everyone. That should be enough to show that I have a good rep, and I contribute.
