"this message was edited" message

I think that's the case only with moderators editing.
 
Cougar,I have had the same thing happen on two occasions,both when I had just posted and noticed the mistake immediately,clicked the edit button and edited.Noticed that the post was corrected,but like your's,no this message has been ed....etc. :confused:
 
fact is I just did it on this one,#3,had comma in wrong place,edited,but it does'nt show.Actually,on the one above.just edited this,lets see what happens.
 
I think, and I may be wrong, if you edit your post relatively quickly after publishing it, the software gives a certain amount of time before indicating that the post was edited.

With moderators it may not indicate that the message has been edited.
 
Oh, Clark...come back and edit it in a few minutes.

You've got something like a 5-10 minute windows to make changes without getting the message. After that, you get the message. I've removed the time limit on editing as well.

Good idea -- five or ten minutes isn't enough time for trolling. Sorry about the false alarm....
