it just popped intom my head this morning, and i dont know why.
but could you make a damascus blade using talonite? it might not make sence, using a carbon steel with it,but could you use two different pieces of talonite and do it?ive seen some damascus blades where the maker used a shotgun barrel and made a damascus pattern.
i know nothing about talonite or making damscus blade, but is this possible?if im a complete fool, please let me know.

Euhhhh Since talonie is NOT steel, how do you intend to get them to weld?

The idea is interesting, but is't like asking if you can mix Ceramic and steel to make damascus.

Hmmm..... Talonite and 6K?

I'm thinking it'd be more of a pain then it's
worth, but Darryl Meier or one of those guys I'd bet could probably do it- any guesses how much $/inch talonite damascus would cost?

I doubt that the pattern welding could be done successfully enough becasue for the high crome cobalt and carbide contents. Stainless steel is hard to weld,I don't know if it would even be possible with talonite.
If it was you'd still have the problem of making the different layers show. Theres no way to etch talonite that I know of.

like i said,i know nothing about talonite OR damascus.just thought i would ask.

it would be rather expensive, wouldnt it?
