Can anyone tell how you go about winning these knives, I saw last months giveaway and was thinking that all it was, was picking a number or was there more? Can some please explain, thanks

each persons assigned number changes every month though,to make it fair.

What do you mean "assigned" a number. I thought you just picked a number. When and where are you assigned a number. Is there a FAQ on this. If there isnt there should be. Im really confused.

I thought every month Mike T. has this big "Pick a #" thread and then just picks who he wants to give the knives to?
He doesn't really care who wins as long as it's not ME!

At the end of each month, Mike's nifty computer assigns a random number to every registered member of Bladeforums. He then starts a thread asking for people to basically yell out numbers, and states that he will use the first number posted after a certain time. If you look at this month's thread http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum64/HTML/001960.html you will see that he says he will use the first number posted after midnight. (You will also see how many people posted numbers before that time, proving that they either can't read, or can't tell time.) Mike took the first number posted after midnight (which was 4717), then checked the list of members to see who the computer had assigned that number to. In this case it was "stab1".
If stab1 had not posted during the month of January, he would have been disqualified, and Mike would've used the next number in the thread to pick the winner (you're also disqualified if you've already won, but the odds of that happening are pretty slim).
To sum this all up as simply as possible, there are 2 things you need to worry about for the contest:
1. Post at least one time each month.
2. Check the "And the winner is..." thread each month to see if your name is there.
Period. That's it. You ain't gotta do nuthin' else. Posting a number in that thread is not entering the contest.
