I have an old camillus ww2 marine corps fighting/utility knife here, that has the leather rotted away just under the handguard and right above the pommel.. is there any custom knife maker around that does repairs on these?

I can't think of any one that would do this for you, but if you use the search option, I know you'll find an article/post or two going over how you could do the restore on your own. I do remember glancing at some of these.:)

So , all the leather needs to be replaced.
There are some folks on here who have done that , be patient and make another post asking just that , I think this is the forum where you would want to ask.
I am fairly adept at fixing and 'pimping' knives but not to the point where I am ready to work on a knife that is not mine.
To be honest what you want done does not sound very hard , really all you need is the materials, a sanding device and some time.

sounds good.. i am very mechanically inclined, but have never done anything like this before.. all i really need is the top and bottom of the handle replaced.. i suppose i could do it.... i just dont want to ruin this thing, as it is a genuine ww2 piece. where do i get this handle leather from?

Well I got it all apart, and I ordered the leather from texasknife.com. We'll see how I fare.
