I have just finished up a new auto, the first one in over a year. I finally got the urge to build one and here it is.
The blade is 4-1/2 inches of forged to shape Daryl Meier Turkish twist damascus. Daryl makes awesome steel, although he is not actively making steel and it is getting harder to find. The front and rear bolsters are Eggerling interrupted twist damascus. I have also hidden the bolster screws for a cleaner look. The latch is twist damascus and the scales are mammoth ivory. The scales have a coffee color with browns, blacks and tans. The liners, backbar, latch, and screws have all been fully fileworked. The filework is in the form of a vine but it goes from a narrow vine on the backbar and gets wider as it progresses twords the rear of the knife incorporating the liners.
The titanium liners have been anodized blue and the screws heat colored gold. There is also a walrus ivory inlay in the backbar on the inside. Precise fit, finish and action with the "money click". The overall length is 10 inches.
Thanks for looking,
Chuck
