So much information! I spend way too much time here, but I suppose there are worse things I could be doing. I had really planned on curtailing my knife purchasing for awhile as I've bought 4 in the last month, but alas a Manix 2 XL was on my wish list and Barman1 made me on offer I could not refuse in the exchange so its on the way.

Couple others I'm looking into are a Spyderco PM2 (its a must, just a matter of time) and I really would like a Benchmade Bone Collector 15020-1. I know they are discontinued, but man I really like the looks of that knife. I have a slight want for a full size grip 550HG, mainly because it is the closest I can find to matching the 15020-1. Any suggestions?

Also, may eventually look into a good all purpose fixed blade. Its not a must, just a thought for down the road. I'm thinking maybe ESEE?

Thanks to all for the info & comraderie. Nice to know I'm not alone!

Relish the moments where you feel like all your knife needs are met, and your wish list has dwindled down to one or two knives that you know you will probably never get. Just know you've been forewarned, because this too shall pass. I curs this place for blessing me with such an expensive and never ending hobby. It has been torture, but I have loved every minute of it. I am finally gaining some resemblance of moderation. I often forget that not to terribly long ago I was in the same boat as you. I was buying multiple high dollar knives a month, and as soon as I would pull the trigger on one three more would pop up on my radar. Before that I carried the same M-tech folder that had so much blade play that it's a wonder how I still have all my digits.

Benchmade 710 and 940 are classics, that are a must own.

For entry level quality fixed blades, look at Becker.

Oh and of course, a contributing membership to the forum is a must

The 710 & 940 are nice, but they're not must haves for me. Its just a preference thing, just don't get the buying itch when I see them. Good call on the Becker though. I think when the time comes one of those will do nicely.

My short list for now consists of the PM2, either the full size Grip 550 HG (or the Bone Collector 15020-1 if I can find one, LOVE the looks of that thing), and probably some time down the road a ZT 0350 as it looks full of awesomeness as well.

I will definitely contribute to the cause with a membership as well. Just gotta get a paycheck :)

Have you handled a benchmade 710/940? I would also say they are must haves...

No, I have not handled either. I'm sure they are extremely nice & the day may come (more than likely) when they are "must haves" for me. But for now they're just not on my radar.

Welcome!

Whatever you do, don't start making knives! It is hazardous to your bank account.

It goes from buying... to selling... to manufacture.

Just the natural progression of the addiction :D
