The quote below from a seller has pretty well expressed the way I feel about the whole Busse Combat experience. Sure, I've been disappointed a few times on Ganzaaaaaas and Blade Show tossups, and have been seconds late to forum sales a few times, but so what? That's part of the game.

LoL... that is ironic if it's the same gprippers that posted here in the past (I'm pretty sure it is). He's been banned numerous times here on the Bladeforums.

Look up gprippers, aka mountainsofalaska, aka scalesandtails, aka silverspoonersucks, aka FFCFO, aka knifebouy, plus a couple other aliases and see how many times he's been banned.:rolleyes:

He's also been banned under: "thebladehog", "gggetdown", "yarite", "randsws", "RX Fire"... And maybe a few others that I am unaware of.

Your right, its just a game, and if it wasn't it wouldn't be any fun. I've missed out on plenty and never had a gripe....well when I first got here I did gripe once because I couldn't get a GW from the BCS:oThat was long ago and I learned real quick after that the fun was in the Game:thumbup:
 
I've seen his auctions many times and would classify him under the 'flipper' category. I like the AD he has up for sale though :D, and it's finally at a somewhat reasonable price.
 
When I saw this post, I debated whether or not to make a comment. I don't know what gprippers did or said to be banned, and I doubt whatever I have to say will make any difference, but I bought an INFIcoot from Rob in 5/2007. He was banned the day after I sent payment (USPS Money Order). I was very concerned because there are really only two things that I think make a person send an item once they receive a money order payment:
1) concern for their reputation, and
2) their personal integrity

In this case, because he was banned, the reputation thing was out the door. Whatever flaws he may have, after I received notification that payment had been received and that he was sending the knife on Friday, it was waiting for me on the porch Monday evening. Even though he was banned, I posted on the GBU sub-forum (Banned though he may be, gprippers did well by me.). Afterward, I sent a request to Spark that his ban be reconsidered (he was having a series of surgeries so meds may have caused his behavior to be a bit off, as I said I don't know details about his forum problem), but the decision was firm.

I'm just saying, yes - he was banned, but that doesn't necessarily make him a bad or unreliable person.

I was gonna note this as well.


I've spoken with Rob about potential purchases and he was kinda brusque in his tone. He even tried to talk me into buying an Oku knife in lieu of a Busse because Busse's "aren't anything special."

I've never bought a knife from a "flipper," and decided not to buy from him, but he always seems to have relatively desirable knives. Interesting...
 
Robs a good guy, I can see where his personality might not come across very well on a online forum because hes a tell it like it is type of guy.

I'll bottom line this for all concerned. . . It's really very simple.

Skunk has NO control over how many blades he gets. . . . He only gets what we send him. . . and it seems like it's NEVER enough! . . . Why not make more???. . Well, we're busy filling a lot of mil. orders and regular direct orders and are just too drunk to get anymore out the door.

Skunk orders 10,000 Game Wardens at a time. . . We send him a few hundred. . . He gets drunk . . . I'm already drunk. . . He puts them up on BCS on a "first come, first serve basis". . . (That's my rule, not his) . . Most everybody gets drunk while waiting. . .They sell out quickly. . . Some folks score, some don't. . . Nearly everyone is happy!. . . . . . If you're not happy, it simply means that you don't drink enough or you don't fully understand the battle cry of the INFI HOG which is, "NO REGRETS! . . . Drinking can help you to understand!. . .

The bottom line: Knife collecting and knife using and abusing is supposed to be fun! If its not fun, you need to drink more!
