I took this minty blade out yesterday for its first use.. After a few hours it quickly became my all time favorite Busse, all purpose blade..

Here is a vid of the second time being used. Just chopped a old skateboard for no apparent reason. The wood on the deck is very strong treated maple in seven compressed layers. I am positive this can out perform the comp. sarsquatch since I now used both.

Droool...Black Paper and Satin.... in one of the Best Busse's ever! Man that is one sick blade:cool:

Thanks for the awesome vid

I really need a satin SHSJ:(

Those boards are tough as nails....and it cut thru like butter!!:thumbup:

OH man,

she works well!

Nice vid thanks for posting!

1. Great vid.

2. Cool knife.

3. STOP TEMPTING ME!

4. I still find it hard to believe it could out-chop a Squatch. You'd need an impartial tester. Sort of like Iron Byron for golfballs/clubs. You LIKE the SHSJ so you work at it better. But mass is behind the Squatch.

5. Did I mention "STOP TEMPTING ME!"?

LOL

EDIT - 6 - I've never seen a SHSJ in someone's hand - it's bigger than I imagined. I can see the allure even more. (STOP TEMPTING ME!) Sort of like a ABALE on steroids.

LOL, thanks man .

I used the comp. sarsquatch on the other half of the deck in the vice. It was pretty damn close to the SHSJ but I found the SJ a bit easier and more comfortable for the skateboard chopping task. Don't forget the SHSJ LE is .25"+ and the squatch is about .18" so those are other factors to consider in the over all performance. I'm not professional in knife testing but reguardless the SHSJ LE can hold its own more than one would expect. I had the pleasure of owning a lot of SHSJs and find the zero/convex full height grind @ .25" my ultimate one so far.. I recommend picking one up and trying it out. Everyone has their personal preferences, but I think you will be satisfied if given the chance to beat on one..:)

The sarsquatch has been used a lot lately. I just lent it to my friend who took a fishing trip out to Michigan. I told him to beat the living chit out of it, but do not resharpen. I think I will send it in to Ban in the near future for a edge touch up.

STOP TEMPTING ME! ROTFL!!!

Seriously. I passed on a SHSJ last month successfully. Thankfully, most are in the SHBA price-range, which is just too high for me. But it don't stop the wantin. ;)

Black Paper and Satin SHSJ.

I'd drool ... but I'm getting a little too old for people to recognize that as a sign of lust and jealousy. And it's waaaay too soon to be sent to the Rest Home. :D

Could I ask who made the black nylon sheath in the photo, and do you have the contact details?

Thanks, nice pic!

That is a factory sheath offered from Busse.

Many years ago most of the blades that came from Busse included a nylon/kydex sheath..

That has been long discontinued and now it is up the the owner to obtain a sheath of his/her liking...

Finally! One like mine! I was beginning to think that mine was a little too rare to use. Not many full height grind LE's out there. I love seeing them used. Nice thing about the satin is it doesnt show use all that much.

Got mine many years ago at cost. And no number. What are they going for now? NOT EVER letting go of mine, but I'm curious.

Cool man... Yours has no # ! interesting...

I was going to keep in as a safe queen but "someone" does not want to sell me a CG SHSJ. ;)

Using my minty Desert SHSJ was out of the question so out came this SHSJ LE. I must say after frst holding it I knew in the back of my head it was gona be a user.. For ths size this thing is a crazy chopper.. I took it out into the woods ladt week and batoned a lot of logs for a fire, chopped down small trees, ect... Still shaving sharp.. God I love infi...

As far as price goes I hav no Idea. I traded into this one..

My guess something like yours and mine would go for about $700-$800 on the secondary.. If ya want to let it go.. shoot me a pm I know some who is interested... ;) Personally I would keep it b/c you will prob. regret letting it go..
