This is rather a bad time to bring this up for me.
Right now, I'm uploading the latest edition to The Main Exhibits Gallery on my site (it seems to be being a bit troublesome tonight.)
Anyway, it's only one balisong, six pictures, a few paragraphs of text. But, between taking the pictures, developing the pictures, scanning the pictures, editting the pictures, writting the text, pulling it all together and linking it into the site, checking it, uploading it, etc., it's probably taken me ten or twelve hours. While I'm happy to share this with you, I am possessive of it. I'm happy to have you look at it, but don't just rip it off and put it onto your own page. If you want to put together a nice website, you should do what Clay does, what Susan does, what I do, what Guileume does, what so many of the other fine web authors here do: put in the work and create original material. Why make a website if you're not going to contribute something new?
I wasn't going to say anything, but I think I will: If you look at the "sponsors" page on this site, it says, "Matt's Tae Kwon Do site and Balisong Knife page..." You'd think that if anyone would, someone who has studied a martial art would understand the importance of getting out on the floor and actually doing something yourself, putting in the hardwork and sweat yourself.
Clay's site is very well-done and a wealth of original information. Sniperboy is an extraordinary graphic artist, designer, and webmaster. My site is very simply constructed, but I built it and I'm proud of it.
By the way, all hit-counters are not created equal. Some just count how many times a page has been requested. If one person requests that page ten times, that counts as ten hits. I one person follows a linkfrom the main page and then goes back to the main page, that's two hits. I don't have a hit-counter on my page because I really don't care. But, I do get a report from my hosting service every two weeks. I average about 1400 unique IP address hits per day. Amazing.
Anyway, I don't want to discourage this guy from adding another balisong-related website to the net, but I just hope he'll make an original contribution.
