Before I started cruising the forums, I had a few knives but they were all of average quality. Some Bucks, Gerbers, CRKTs, some schrades, etc. The most I had ever spent on a knife was $120. Now in the past two weeks I have bought three Case knives, a custom Bowie is on order, and I have bought two Benchmades as well. To quote the man who drank from the wrong cup in Indiana jones: "What is happening to me??!!!!!??!"

Trust me, a few months from now you'll think $300 for a knife is not that expensive anymore. It happens to all of us.

ISorry bro, you're in deep. I love this site, but my wallet disagrees. My best advice in terms of slowing the impulse buys is whenever you find something you really want to buy, wait 2 weeks, do some research, evaluate your financial situation, and if you still want to pull the trigger, go right ahead, but the late night impulse purchases can add up to several hundred dollars fast, so be smart.

Exactly 3 months ago I thought $300 was expensive. I have no issue spending 2 grand on a knife anymore. It's just a phase, you'll get through it. When the bank account drops every week or 2, you start to appreciate the $200-$400 knives & actually use them. Can't bring myself to actually use a knife that costs over 1 grand. I use them to cut non abrasive stuff at work, just not cardboard & stuff that scratches up my very nice hand ground satin finishes.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure I will never get into the 1k plus phase, because I never buy something I don't use. And financially I'm lucky in that I have no kids and no car payments. I do have other expensive tastes though lol. So we will see how things go.

Also, I gave my wife her pink mini griptilian and she LOVED it. Two of her friends were over too and they both loved it. Mine is still in transit :( so I played around with it. Love the axis lock. It is really easy to flip it open with the flick of a wrist. I even taught one of my wife's friends to do it and she had it down in about ten tries. She was shocked at how easy it was to do it. I am so excited to get mine!

On the subject of the mini-grip, I just bought a Benchmade 555 the other day, mainly because it looks a little similar to the Delica 4, and didn't really think about the price [love the knife so far-- first time trying out 154CM steel].

Same with the Blur, Mini Tuff Lite and Fulcrum that came beforehand... In the span of four weeks.

I'd love to give my girlfriend a mini-grip, but she's really into the assisted knives, looking at getting her a Leek instead. Too bad we can't get autos here...

I wish I could get an auto too. Don't understand what the big deal is. I can flick out a lot of my knives as fast as a switchblade. If someone was going to use a knife as a weapon they would probably favor a concealed fixed blade anyways.

The only cure is to pack those knives into a box and send them to my house >_>

Hey guys, first post here. And man, I've got it bad. Let me put it this way: at the beginning of August I only had a multi-tool. Right this moment I have 7 knives and three more on the way. It's an absolute sickness!

I do not know what are you talking about.

Same here man, I used to be stuck on Buck Knives. I had a huge collection. Now I'm throwing tons of money at knoves worth 100+

I used to be stuck on Buck Knives

I'm still stuck on buck knives. I have purchased three 110s recently. Two as gifts and one for myself. All three came sharper than the mini griptilian I got for the wife. I still believe that a buck 110 is one of the best values out there today.

When you have 3 or more crks and you're always debating on if you should get another few, remember those gerbers etc and have a good laugh.

I was the same way brother. I only used CRKT and Smith and Wesson, I still have a S&W that my wife gave me as a gift. I remember coming to this sight and thinking "who and the hell would spend $100 or more on a knife?! Its JUST a knife, a $30 knife will perform just as well as any other!" And them I bought my first knife after years of being happy with my cheap, but still good quality, knives... I bought a Kershaw Speed Bump for $50+/- and it was a dream. Then I thought, well Ive purchased a few knives in the $50 range and ended up getting rid of most of them after they broke or after I somehow wore them out, so if I would have just saved all my money I could have purchased a few $100 knives.

Later that week I bought a ZT 350 and then I KNEW why people spend $100+ on a knife. Now I have a FEW hundred dollars in knives, but Im getting rid of a couple... to make room for my next knife...ZT 303!!! I try to only keep 4 EDCs 1 or 2 hunting folders (beaters) and a good fixed blade... and I have all that. My last purchase was a Custom Fixed Blade that was made from my design.
