This was fun! I've been wanting to try forging copper and I think it goes well with this one. I thought ('till I trial set it) that the guard would be too much for the knife but, it balanced out quite well. The knife has a coal forged and etched 4 3/4" blade of 5160 about 1/8" thick. The knife itself is 10" overall. The handle is impale bone with a turquoise throat and black spacers. The guard and the sheath post are hand-wrought copper. The sheath is, of course, by Tess.

That twisted guard is killer! Just be wary of the fumes from copper, bro. They can hurt ya bad.

What a blade J! That's almost as much fun to look at as it was to make. Keep trying new designs and by all means keep sharing them.

J., I really like that knife!! That handle is killer. Is the blade pinned in any way, or is it epoxied?

Thanks guys. George, as long as I still have it, I'll bring it. Bill: the tang is notched and set with epoxy. It goes about 3/4 of the way down the bone.

J I gotta tell ya, that is cool. Want to talk about forging copper? I'm curious how that works.

Sure Dave, just PM me.

I've gotten a few comments here and on CKD that the guard is just too big for the knife but, I liked it.:p

I like the thing. As a rule I hate brass and love copper. Everything on this knife just works together!
