:(

I cross ocean,
poor and broke,

Take bus,
see employment folk.

Nice man
treat me good in there,
Say I need
go see Welfare.

Welfare say,
"You come no more,

We send cash
right to your door."

Welfare checks,
they make you wealthy,

Medicaid
it keep you healthy!

By and by,
Got plenty money,

Thanks to you,
TAXPAYER dummy.

Write to friends
in motherland,

Tell them
'come, fast as you can'

They come in turbans
and Ford trucks,

I buy big house
with welfare bucks.

They come here,
we live together,

More welfare checks,
it gets better!

Fourteen families,
they moving in,

But neighbor's patience
wearing thin.

Finally, white guy
moves away,

I buy his house,
and then I say,

"Find more aliens
for house to rent."

In my yard
I put a tent.

Send for family
they just trash,

But they, too,
draw welfare cash!

Everything is
very good,
Soon we own
whole neighborhood.

We have hobby
it called breeding,

Welfare pay
for baby feeding.

Kids need dentist?
Wife need pills?

We get free!
We got no bills!

TAXPAYER crazy!
He pay all year,
To keep welfare
running here.

We think America
darn good place!
Too darn good
for white man race.

If they no like us,
they can scram,
Got lots of room
in Pakistan.

My family migrated here legally 24 years ago when I was just a kid. No one in my family has ever been on welfare. We siblings are all doing well now but we were poor growing up. We are all homeowners now but I can remember when owning a home was just a dream and out of the question. So, even as a kid where I grew up I remember it use to piss me off when I saw people (usually foreigners of a particular race that I won't mention) at the grocery store driving a Mercedes with lots of flashy jewelry and paying with food stamps. I know there are lots of immigrants and non-immigrants who take advantage of the system and I hate it. Very much of that poem is truth, unfortunately.

I have no problem with anyone wanting to live here from where ever abroad that wants to work as we do..provided they
don't want to personally deliver self detonating bombs :(
My Grand mother on my dads side was from Halifax so I guess I'm an import of a sort too :D
Families like yours are a credit to what's right...I still don't have much :o
my newest vehicle is a 1997 :( the kids turned out great so I did good I guess :)

There are things more important than material possession. Dan, consider yourself better off than a millionaire with spoiled kids that don't appreciate anything because they have everything. I'd rather be a poor knifemaker/artist than a rich lawyer. I used to work as a clerk in a big L.A. lawfirm and made good money. I couldn't stand how bad the people were to each other in a place like that. It made me see an ugly world. So, 5 years ago I sold my house and bought a cheap one in a smallish town away from the city. I moved here to Visalia without a job and I took a big chance. I couldn't get a job at Mcdonalds or Walmart. So, being desperate, my wife and I cleaned houses for a living and I earned extra money as an artist. I know some people look down on housekeepers but I feel really good and proud about where we are in life. To this day we still clean houses from about 8:am to noon. Then I make knives and she goes to her new part time (minimum wage) job. Our daughter is really good and raised well and she's graduating from HS this year. We're doing well::)

It's real easy to blame society's ills on one group or another.

I've found good people and bad people of all races. It all boils down to either having an evil mind, or a good mind. It has nothing to do with some cosmic role of the dice, that made us evolve into diff breeds.

Please keep this post civil or move it to the political forum.

yes there are all kinds that make up the world.. and the slower way I'm sure is a better situation to bringing up our kids, at the least for them to appreciate what they have..
I sure would like to be on the rich side of it just for a short time though :) so I can say I've been there and then say it's no life for me ,, just for a short time... :D it's that saying ,, the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence thing :)

Nothing uncivil Dan,

Just a pre-emptive strike :D

We are all imports, the only question is, when, at what point in history did we arrive. What you did after you got here is a matter of personal motivation, conscience and cercumstance. There are always people who will take advantage of any situation, just as there are always people who are scrupulusly honest, no matter what the oppurtunity. Good call Mark, Fred
