Really love the 3" size of knives and really like the added Ti frag to my 3" XM, but had a chance to trade another 3" for a 3.5 so had to at least give it a try. Everyone's praise here for the 3.5 size 'encouraged' me to give it some time in my pocket. It is funny how the pictures don't really do justice to the actual difference in the size of these two models. I think the difference is substantial in weight expecially, but really think that the 3.5 is an acceptable size for every day carry.

Both knives have bronze standoffs which looks good with the Ti and the orange. I've got a translucent green scale coming for the 3.5.

Real Beauties  Great sizes for EDC, as I have mentioned many times - EDC a 3.5" most of the time. 3" once the nice weather and shorts come out.

I have both but prefer the 3" for EDC for size reasons. But love them both. My 3" is a slicer and 3.5 is Spanto flipper. I prefer the looks of the spanto blade.

3.5 XM is (most) always on me. And is paired down around the house and up when living life.

As far as what size is right for any one person it gets into personal preference and tasks. If all you want/need is a 3" Slicer, the Hinderer quality is there--as in all models.
If you want/need a 24...highly recommended if you need a large, robust and reliable folding knife...it's a reassuring tool to have on-hand.
But if your lifestyle allows for only one size XM...the 3.5 seems to fill the roll and its requirements very well. It can do the little things and still pack enough beneficial qualities to handle the big jobs too.

Nice Slicers, dwcliff.
