My Emerson fever is incredibly high at the moment and while I was pondering whether I should just buy a Mini CQC-15 straight from Emerson, instead of waiting for one to pop up sooner or later at some of the usual dealers, I happened to find out some great news (at least for me).

Now, I am not into this whole twitter thing, but I happened to stumble upon Emerson's twitter account and, surprise of all surprises, there was a message from 3/24 stating that ... gasp ... "The Gipsy Jack is coming soon"!

This will be my next Emerson, guaranteed. What a beautiful knife. Is anyone else salivating at the idea that the Gipsy Jack will soon be available?

No one gives a sh1t except me, I guess...This will be the last time I start a thread with new information in this part of the forum, guaranteed.
I thought giving information to fans of a knife company was a good idea. Wrong.

Need attention much? Ya didn't even wait a day for Pete's sake...

The Gypsy Jack is a neat design, just wish it didn't have that drastic dip between the bolster and the blade. Always good to see new production models though

I posted several times about the Gypsy Jack (if you don't believe me, go search for my posts): comments about this knife...asking for any news/info/opinions about it...mentioned it in several threads that were talking about new designs and knives that people love/would love to have or have any interest in them.

Results? Your post is the 2nd OVERALL (the other one being from a guy that likes the Gypsy Jack a lot, like I do obviously) with any comment whatsoever in reply to the discussion at hand. Post a similar thread in other sections of the forum (one clear example: the Spyderco section) and you'll have people jumping into the conversation because of their passion for a certain brand/maker.
In this part of the forum, I noticed that people love to flock to controversial threads, especially those bashing Emerson products and/or Ernest Emerson. I thought giving people the information that the Gypsy Jack was close to production would get the attention and opinion of at least a few. Instead I get your "Need attention much?". If you ask me, it's
kinda sad. So, to answer your question, am in "need of attention much"? No, my "crime" is trying to 1) see what fellow Emerson enthusiasts think of this knife 2) let the ones who check EKI website not too often that some new product is incoming.

By the way, as of early yesterday the Gypsy Jack is in stock and shipping. I put my money where my mouth is and got one straight from EKI, ETA is 4/6/11 by the end of the day according to the UPS tracking website. Won't bother posting any pic as if there's no interest, why waste my time. One day maybe I will find some Emerson enthusiasts somewhere,
I know it's not in Bladeforums unfortunately. Now you and others can say whatever you want, this is really my last post for a while here (I know what I just wrote maybe won't be appreciated by some. As I said, in this part of the forum people love to squabble a lot, so I get the feeling that someone will have to chime in and bash me in some way. Cool by me, I won't answer.). Back to Spyderco's section, General Knife and Traditional Knife sections.

This sub-forum just doesn't get much traffic is all.
You'd get more response posting about a new Emerson in General (which is weird, I know).

Emerson knives get much more attention on another certain forum

I have a long association with this forum under another name. In the past there were a lot of Emerson bashers on BF which lead to an exodus of the majority of knowledgeable Emerson collectors. It is true you can find out more about the knives on that "other forum" but if you have patience you can here as well.

True to form Mr. Emerson never left. He's a class act.

I've liked the Gypsy Jack ever since it came out as a custom. To me it's a folding Naval boarding cutlass. I belong to ECA and therefore got an early email about the Gyspy and the opportunity to get the serial number I collect. It matches my CQC-12, Gentleman Jim, and Roadhouse.

The email I got noted that this would be a limited, possibly one time, run of Gypsy Jacks.
