Deer season is over for North GA today. Here's the year's kills:
Got these two the first day. They were running together. They were the 8th and 9th doe I saw that day. The first (the one on the right) I shot as she was walking towards me up a hill at 10 yards, through the heart and out the top of her back and hit the spine. She fell where she stood. The other doe took off and came back. As she was trotting toward the fallen doe I shot her in the heart as well.
The last was a 30 yard lung shot. The hole you see is where the bullet came out.
Got these three in the first three weeks in gun season and committed myself to hunting horns the rest of the season. I hunted scrapes, rubs and runs. Saw a total of 31 doe and 1 spike that I didn't want to shoot. Well, I got no buck this year, but the cooler was 3/4 full.
Moving on to squirrel and rabbits.
