Today, Gosdent and I went out to this years L.I. Gun/ Knife show in Happauge NY and we brought back some new toys. The show was pretty good overall. There was a bit larger/better selection back at the March show but it was still worth going to. Just wanted to post about the knives we both picked up earlier today. I bought the Cold Steel Scimitar, Spyderco Dragonfly 2, and the CRKT Marzitelli Prowler. Gosdent picked up the Gerber Applegate/Fairbarn, CRKT Carson F4 neck knife, Benchmade Presidio Ultra, Kershaw OD-2, SOG Micro Toolclip, and Smith & Wesson Special Ops folder. Here's a picture of today's collection additions:

Awesome score dude! I never see any scimitars anywhere.

I really like that crkt prowler, is it still in production?

Yeah, the Prowlers were discontinued a couple years ago and the Scimitar was there back in March, just never bought it until this time. Its the only one i've seen though. The liner is titanium which is cool to see on a cold steel piece.

Just got back from the same show.
A buddy of mine picked up a vintage Puma White Hunter for a fair price. It was as dull as a butter knife but after a few minutes on the paper wheels I got it laser beam sharp
I passed on a LH Sebbie that had the thumbstup put in for a right hander, in retrospect I should of taken it for the 200

I saw that same sebenza. Was thinking about doing it but it was really awkward to use. I don't know if you talked to the guy but he was trying to pass it off as "new".

I saw the sebenza too and was considering it for the 200 but also passed...I got an old Iticha shotgun for $240 all in that was good the knives were all on the high side to me. How many dealers were at the last show that were no here this time???

A lot of the knives were a little high but you can find some nice deals. I got my Scimitar for $45. There were a couple new dealers there but not a ton. I was actually talking to the guy running the Cobra airguns table and he said he had some knives. He had a customized desert tan Emerson, a damascus blue stag/bolster delica sprint, and a couple benchmades. I got my knives from the Knife and Gear Guys table. Really nice people. Talked with/bought from them last time as well.

Yeah, I personally found a lot more that I was interested in this time around as apposed to last March. Some stuff was on the high side (like plain edge full size Kabars with kydex sheaths for $95,) but other stuff like Droppoint's scimitar and dragonfly were rediculous deals. Got my long time discontinued CRKT Carson F4 neck knife for $20 brand new , that's less than its retail price when it was made. We scored pretty well I think, really looking forward to going again next March.

The guys from Cobra were great. I will be visiting their store myself. The show was the best I have been too on LI in a long time. There is one next week in Bablyon, but it will not be this good....There were two knife dealers in the "corner" off the main isle. The younger guys had some good deals but the other guy had nice knives but a bit higher then I would ever pay. There was a guy selling fake sebenzas that were marked with the trade mark and all. did you see them? They were $25. I surprised they allowed that but I guess no one cares....

I know exactly which dealers you are talking about. I liked the Knife and Gear Guys towards the center of the show, they had some nice FENIX flashlights and a few BM axis's, that's where I got the presidio. but aahhh the guy on the right with the fake sebbies.. I saw a guy buy both of em :barf:. I also saw a few strider fakes around, one guy insisted his was real and was asking $100 for it. I was thinking, "If it WAS a real one for $100, hell yes i'll take it!!" haha.

"...but the other guy had nice knives but a bit higher then I would ever pay."

yeah I bought from him back in march, and that's where Droppoint got his Prowler this time. He always has a ton of stuff to look at and he's great chatting with, but some of his stuff is crazy priced. He is the one I meant when I just mentioned the $95 kabars. just crazy, I think i'll order that one online instead.

I actually went back today and did some selling/horse trading with Jimmy ( he is the guy in the corner) and the knife and gear guys, and the high priced guy......I wanted to get rid of a few old Benchmades and Gerbers that were NIB and I could have sold them for much more on Ebay, but I really don't sell much of anything, so it was worth it to trade a few and sell a few cheap....I paid for the shotgun I bought yesterday and made a few bucks too....I sold two Benchmade Spikes NIB from back in the eraly 90s and traded two Applegate folders from the early 90s too! Sold an early 90s Gerber Gator, and some cheap stuff from China.....Glad I went back....

cobraairguns.com is where i first heard of it, but there'll be a show again in the spring. if you subscribe to this thread, ill post on it later on in the year when I hear itll be on next and let you guys know. Im assuming the next one is in March.
