These are the vintage peanuts I've been able to pick up so far this year. I don't do anything to my knives but wipe them down with gun oil to clean them up, so as they are is how I received them, minus the rust. I listed the maker and approximate year to the best of my knowledge.

Cattaraugus (1882-1963), Schrade (1917-1946), Primble (1940-1968), Winchester (1919-1942)

Kabar (1923-1951), Sears (1878-1959), Robeson (1922-1939), Robeson (1940-1964)

Hi Furious Pace -

Your name aligns well with your collecting habits!

Very nice collection. I particularly like the bone and stag versions.

Yesterday I pulled out my old Roberson jack and carried it for a change.

Thanks for the excellent pictures.

best regards -

Wow. "Haul" is a very accurate description of those fine knives.

Wow, I'm impressed. Really like the Cripple Creek's and Challenge.

I like them all, but swooning over that Western States candy stripe with the sabre grind, big swedge, and the tapered long pull. I want to see your hunting grounds!

As many on this site already know, collecting knives can become very addicting. The positives of collecting these old peanuts has to be everything I've learned about the various vintage companies and I've paid less for the majority of these old knives compared to what I would have paid for new ones. I still think about the ones I missed out on, because I know the odds of coming across them again are slim. Without a doubt I am convinced that today's production knives cannot match up with the quality and craftsmanship that went into these old production knives. Although, there is that new AG Russell pinched peanut, I've been itching for.

Furious Pace... mate, what can I say what others havent already!, damn there are some very fine knives in there, That tapered nail pull on the Western is very cool, something I havent seen a lot of.
Cripple creeks, the Robesons, Kabars... awesome eye cany for us-awesome!

Another  for Hal and Duncan's assessments: The Western State's blade is off the charts neat, with the big swedge and especially the tapered pull. Thanks for showing.
