does anyone have a pic of of an izula and an izula II together/on top of each other/with a delica?

Here are some pics. Don't know if this helps you or not. Delica, Izula and Izula II. Personally I would add to, not take away. Delica is such a nice EDC folder and the Izula is a good companion knife.

huh, I expected a lot more handle on the II than the I.. I love how clean your delica is. Mine has definitely been a user ^.^

I dont think I can justify caring a fixed and a folder. (at least city carry) When I camp I just pack my wave and esee 4

The wonder of photography. The Delica has been used a lot. I made the mistake of handing it to someone to use one day and they used it for a pry bar. Buggered the tip and the edge up pretty good. Also loosened the blade from the pivot. Send it in to Spyderco and they reprofiled it. Put some lok tite on the pivot and all problems solved. Used it so much that I knocked a bunch of paint off the clip so I just stripped it. It has held up very well considering all that it has been through. Great little knife. I carry it in my maxped everyday.

There is considerably more handle on the Izulla II, it's just the angle that last picture was taken. For a better Idea look at the first picture where the spines are all straight up. Notice the thumb jimping on both izulas, this should be the same distance from blade tip to jimping.

AlanP is right. There is a distinct difference in the handle you get on the 2. My pictures just didn't show it well enough. Try this.

I had the same thoughts and went ahead and did it . My EDC had been my Spyderco Native for about 8 years . But heavy use had the blade loosening up and I wanted a tougher knife to EDC . I chose the Izula I because of it's lenght . I wanted to have it inside my pocket like a clip folder . So I made a sheath with a pocket clip and it just fits nicely all the way down inside the edge of my jeans pocket . Now I have a sharp and sturdy knife with me all the time .

HOLD ME BEER AND WATCH THIS !

Depends what you're going to use it for. As much as I like carrying around a small fixed-blade, I think you'll get better use out of the Delica for most mundane slicing tasks. I carried an Izula for the better part of a year before finally admitting that I didn't care for how thick the blade was and how deep the belly is on the blade -- I find these two things make for a difficult time sharpening. The knife is great and the steel does sharpen up to a nice keen edge, but the thickness of the grind combined with that belly really subtracts from the usefulness of that already-tiny 2.88" blade, making slicing cuts less than great. The sheath, however, is AWESOME.

The Delica is tiny and solid, with a useful blade shape in a premium-quality stainless that doesn't rust and takes a keen edge like nothing else I've ever used. Less drastic belly, combined with a much thinner blade stock, even in the sabre-ground versions, makes sharpening a breeze and slicing cuts very clean. Try a FFG version and I doubt you'll be wanting to cut with anything else afterwards. The handle is great and don't let the Delica's diminutive size fool you, it's still plenty tough, especially with that sabre grind.

Fair warning, the Izula isn't the best slicer around. I love it but between the coating and the thickness is doesn't cut as nice as, say, a Delica or Manix. The only way I'd to back to EDC'ing my Izula is if I worked a more physical job or if I was in the woods more often but for cardboard, paper and letters and such it's not that great. I can get my Izula to shaving sharp and my Manix 2, Skyline or Presidio all cut much better and they are usually duller.

IMO, using an Izula to cut boxes and such is like using pliers to remove bolts. Yea it'll probably work but there are better choices of tools out there more suited to the task at hand.

I EDC one of my Izulas and love it. Does everything I ask of it without complaint. It being strapped to my belt clears up pocket space for more important things.

True, you do get some drag trying to slice with the Izula. I usually carry mine at work for cutting open boxes, cutting zip ties and cutting shrink wrap off of pallets of supplies. Goes back to the right knife for the right task line of thinking.

Well, I'm going into carpentry and I really want something that I can feel free to abuse. I will feel better with a fixed I think.

As neck knife , Izula , very , very strong to me, and after a few sharpenings i have a thiner/ convexier edge that cut GREAT !
