Thomas J. Elpel DVD's

Vivi,

I've watched two of them. The guy obviously knows his stuff and he seems like a really nice guy. They're not slick, multi camera, multi-media department enhanced productions. He really does go out with nothing, OK, nearly nothing, and make everything.

His techniques do include the use of anything that is found along the way like bottles, cans, nails, etc. In that sense his thinking is more in line with wilderness survival than bushcraft. Example: if lost in the woods and you find a plastic 2-liter it is a canteen, not a primitive technique but certainly functional.

Hi Mac,

Maybe I'll have to give Thomas a call and see about adding his titles to our lineup. We're always looking to add to our "Outdoor Skills" category. I just received the Woodmaster series but haven't had the opportunity to watch it or enter it into inventory yet.
