I am new to this forum and very pleased to be here. I'm in the UK and have been given by my father a locking folding knife. The blade is stamped TURNER X ? S SUFFOLK WORKS SHEFFIELD, a wavy line, three diamonds and maybe a C. When open it is 240mm long and appears to have an ivory handle. The bolster ? is silver coloured and is a horses head with a cannon, kneeling soldier with what looks like a musket and an anchor. It is in very good condition and appears to be very old. Others have suggested that it was made by Thomas Turner & Co of Sheffield. Apparently they made commemorative pieces associated with important events particularly to trade in the American market. Could this knife have commemorated Paul Revere and his ride to Concord in 1775, the Boston tea party etc hence the horses head, cannon, muskets and anchor.
I'm a bit thick when it comes to computers and would attached a photo if I could figure out how.
Any information would be gratefully received.
