Hey Thomas, I am having issues with Customer Service regarding my nice new Offset. I sent it in for service a few weeks ago, and just got it back today-unfixed:( The blade has a dimple in it, and I first mentioned it in this thread:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=515980

I also noticed that there is back and forth play in the blade when it is locked open, making me think it needs new steel liners also.

I just had a great experience with Customer Service regarding torsion bar springs for my Speed Bump, so I was shocked to see my Offset return untouched. I was never contacted with any questions about the specific problem, and I did send a note with it explaining what the problem was. My enclosed receipt of purchase was returned with "RPR1597G10" on it.

What can I do? I don't want to whine and complain like some people I have seen do here.

yeah, rpr on the letter you sent in my experience means they repaired it. if they replaced it you would see rpl instead. Did they fix the blade play at all or is the thing trully untouched?

It was resharpened, but I didn't notice the blade play until I got it back so they wouldn't have known about that part when they had it.

Thomas kindly contacted me and assures a solution on Monday. I'll have my fingers crossed until then.

im really glad thomas gets involved and cares about kershaw customers. I love it when a company has people that trully care about the product. it seems to bridge the gap between manufacturer and consumer. i just feel better about a product when i know someones out there to really back it up.

I'm with you on that point.

But there are so many that don't care. Both consumer and manufacturer.

Texas, if you dont mind, did Thomas decide to replace it or what?

They decided to replace it which was a nice surprise, because it sure speeds up the turnaround time.:D I sent Dawn at CS an email saying I didn't mind how long it took so long as it was fixed right, and she dropped a bombshell saying Thomas picked out a new Offset to be shipped out today.:thumbup:

In my 2 years at Bladeforums now I have never seen a better example of fine customer service by any other manufacturer. I was never going to stop liking Kershaw regardless of what happened with it, but surprises are nice.

Now everyone go out and buy an Offset...or two.:p

I am hoping that with all these new Kershaws coming out that somewhere in there - in the near future there will be a Baby or Mini Offset now that would be sweet.

ohhhhh Thomas!!!!!!!!!!! how about it?

Can't see a mini Offset happening. With the sizable investment necessary for a new blade mold...I would like the time put into a new pattern.

With that said, we are working on another MIM blade...hopefully something new in this area by the end of the year.

Sorry ol, I know how you like...I mean love the Offset.

yep, XL, just as I thought. After I grab a boa (gotta have at least 1 serrated knife) I may grab an offset with the paint speckled lookin handle. That is a sweet handle.
