My latest custom, a Thomason (no relation). Could not find much about him. William (Bill) Thomason out of Georgia. As I understand it he no longer makes knives and hasn't for many years. This one was made in the late 70's. About 4 1/4", unknown wood and unknown steel, half stops, nice and firm. All is well, Thomason now has a Thomason.:D

Cool score Rob. I'm not sure I would tell everyone that someone else made it, but that's just me. :D

Very Nice Thomason,I see the dovetail work on that one, looks pretty deep..

William Thomason or "Bill" Thomason, as he preferred to be called, worked on his property at his knife shop producing custom knives up until circa 1977 in Dalton, Georgia.

More information to follow soon..

Any more info you come up with is appreciated, Sunnyd. You are a good man.
There is nothing fancy about it but the workmanship is very good. Probably has to do with the fact that he is a Thomason. For the most part they are all special characters.;)

I think you have the character part right! :D Congratulations on finding that Thomason!

Nice knife, with a good name on it.

I'd be really impressed if you find one by this maker:

:D :p ;)

 at least you are off to a great start.

(With names like Bastid and Gus Kalanzis, I don't stand a chance. :D)

Don,

If you are involved with that, let me know. It would take me a while to finish, but I will track some down and try it.

Got some famous folks here between Thomason and yourself! :D.

...If you are involved with that...
Not involved at all, Don is a title and Luis a common name, so there are many "Don Luis" around, these particular wine is from the Cetto family, Mexican of Italian descent I believe, IMHO It's a good one, named for Luis Cetto (Don Luis). They also have a line called "L.A. Cetto" and the less expensive "Marques del Valle" which is what I do buy every so often.

Thomason,

Well my friend I did not come up with anything more other than what appears to be his last known address and telephone number in an older part of Dalton, GA.. I was hoping to get a hold of a 1960's-90's database list that a good friend of mine and I use to have that showed and told about the makers favorite use of steel, style, grind, scales material, etc.. Unfortunately, that attempt failed. But, I have not given up yet, it just may take a little longer than I first anticipated to locate the list.. If you would like to email me I would be very happy to pass on the information that I do have to further your possible success in your quest for the infamous Thomason knife.:) BTW, Your knife is quite cool looking and is certainly quite a unique find!

Anthony
