obviously this is a gun in a knife forum but has anyone handled/shot one? they look beautiful.also is anyone familiar with the new .30 T/C

This one is a .30-.30 bbl I also have a .357 and a .45LC/.410 bbl for it.
One of my favourite guns that I don't get to shoot enough.

ya i cant wait to turn 21 so i can buy handguns...until then i will just have to stick with rifles and shotguns

These are not commonly available just yet but they should start shipping any time now. I was recently in the market for a hunting rifle and I had my heart set on an Icon but it was not to be. From everything I've read and heard about these thay are supposed to be very well made and accurate right otb. The only thing I'm not sure about is why they don't offer it in 30-06 yet. The new .30 T/C looks like a good cartridge but I wonder about the availability of the ammo. I ended up with a Remington 700 CDL in 30-06 with a Ziess Conquest 3-9x40. It's a nice set up but I can see myself buying an Icon next season if they live up to all the hype. We will see. -DT

I got to handle the icon for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Its a beautiful gun that is well made. It is heavier than I thought it would be though. As for the 30 TC, I don't see the point. Currently there are only two loads for it. The ballistics of hornady's own 150 grain 308 win. light mag matches the ballistics for the 30 TC. exactly. If it were me, I would go with the 308. You have more choices in terms of ammo and the ammo is readily available.

a lot of calibres are imho redundant thats for sure,

some folks just want something "different".

ya i think im just going to stick with my 7mm 08 for another season...it hasnt failed me yet. and hopefully the price will go down and maybe be available in a few more calibers

thats a beautiful gun wired...and nice hogs! i would love to hunt those some day...maybe they will work their way up to pennsylvania some day. actually that might not be a good thing. and i see your in west florida...i was just down in lakeland and they were hiring someone to shoot a bunch of pigs that were tearing up the golf course and nearby farms. too bad i didnt bring my gun(Remington Model 700 Mountain LSS) that i just won at a local gun bash
