I recently got my order for this knife from Reese Weiland. A one of a kind, truly custom made super framelock. As far as I know no one has ever made a framelock this burly before.

Now the specs: .200 thick, 3.75 long CPM-154 blade, with reverse tanto blade shape with the first false edge shapened. Each handle slab is .250 thick Ti, with the portion under the multicolor Micarta .100 thick, and that is where the lock also flexes with no additional cutout. The backspacer is stainless steel to put more weight at the thin part of the handle. It also has a licensed Hinderer lock stop. 3/16 Hardened stop pin, and custom turned .250 hardened 440C pivot and screw. The weight is 10.75 ounces.

Amazingly the knife isn't very hard to unlock and manipulate, and has a very smooth opening. It isn't the kind of knife you would sit and open and close all day though;) I really think all those other custom makers and production companys should do thicker cutouts, after experiencing this knife.

I like the idea of sharpening the first false edge.

Agree that more knifemakers should be doing thicker cutouts on framelocks.

That thing is a monster. Congrats on the score! You would be hard pressed to find another framelock as beefy, but it does exist. Farid makes the T-5000 that also uses 1/4" thick Ti slabs and 5/16" thick blade.

Holy Crap... that's awesome. I've always thought the cutouts on my framelocks were a bit thin. I've never had one fail though. Looks like that T-5000 needs a bigger clip.

Good God...10 ounces?! I sincerely hope you're not carrying this thing.

That isn't much weight for me. I use a Ti instructor belt, 5.11 taclite shorts or pants and I carry so much stuff on me, in a way most people would not realize im carrying anything. Also my next custom knife will make this thing seem lightweight in comparison. No more hints other than that, it's a secret ;)

can you stab it through...hmmmm.....lets see................THE WORLD?!?!?!?!

if not then its just a nice piece of pocket jewelry. ;)

The SOG Tomcat has a .25" thick blade, at least mine does. But it's not a framelock.

Nice knife KD, and it is a beast. I am just sitting hear admiring my newly aquired Farid T5000 and thought there wasn't too many other knives as beefy but the THOR is definitely holding it's own ! Oh and the clip on the Farid seems to work pretty well, the knife is thick enough it won't move too much in the pocket.

That thing is crazy, the Hossum retribution 1 also has a pretty substantial liner lock, .125" liner lock and even thicker scales.

I have both the 1 and 2 waiting for Reese to put black G10 and tip up clips on em. They're waved.
