I ran across a Bushcrafter on You Tube talking with one of the men who run Thorn Wood Forge, in Somerset, England. Small, hand forged company, to my untrained eyes looked to be making some nice axes. I did not see any prices. They are using English EN9 steel, which I am not familiar with, mild carbon steel, from about .5 to .6 carbon, and they forge the heads to a HRC of 55. One point on EN9 steel is they say it is very tough. They had a video on how they make the axes, and use Ash for handles. Their web site is : www.thornwoodforge.com. John
