Those knife bushing questions again...

Okay, so, I have plans of building my own folder, it includes a pivot bushing. In simple terms, a bushing allows you to tighten down the screw all the way and still have very smooth action. Then I thought about tolerances n' stuff. Would it be true to say that whatever my end results are, depending on bilateral tolerances, when I tighten the screw all the way down it will only be as smooth as whatever the tolerances will be? If I ditched a pivot bushing and made it adjustable, would it be no different than tightening it, then backing off until you liked the action? Until the level of tightness would have been the same as with a bushing? Is anyone catching on to my question? If you were to buy a knife, right now, tell me why you would or would not want to use a pivot bushing. Thanks guys.

From my understanding; pivot bushings are rare in production knives because they are so hard to pull off. It's already hard enough to center and square the pivot hole so the blade is centered. In the bushing system you need that pivot hole to be perfect, and you need the inside and outside diameters to be perfect and square as well. It's like three times as hard to get right.

I think bearings are slightly easier to get right and get you the same if not better (personal preference) results.
